The ingredients needed to make Solkadhi:
  1. Prepare 1 1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
  2. Make ready 1 1/2 cup warm water
  3. Prepare 10-12 kokum petals
  4. Prepare 1 garlic clove
  5. Prepare 1 green chilli
  6. Make ready 1/2 tsp black salt
  7. Make ready 1/2 tsp powdered sugar
  8. Make ready 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  9. Get to taste Salt
Instructions to make Solkadhi:
  1. Soak kokum petals in warm water for 30 mins.
  2. For coconut milk: take fresh coconut, garlic, chilli and 1 cup of warm water and grind for 2 mins.
  3. Now on a strainer pour this coconut mixture and drain thick coconut milk. Again grind the coconut with 1/2 cup of warm water and repeat same procedure.
  4. Grind kokum petals with little water. Take out kokum syrup with the help of strainer. (you can use ready-made kokum syrup 1/4 cup)
  5. Add kokum syrup to coconut milk. Add black salt, cumin powder, sugar powder, salt and mix well. Garnish with fresh chopped coriander. You can serve as it is or can serve chilled. Enjoy Solkadhi.
