The ingredients needed to make Fafda/Chorafali:
  1. Make ready 2 cup besan/chickpea flour
  2. Make ready 1/2 cup urad dal flour
  3. Take 1/2 tsp baking soda
  4. Take 2 tbsp oil + for frying
  5. Make ready 1/2 cup warm water approx
  6. Get As needed Rice flour for dusting
Steps to make Fafda/Chorafali:
  1. In a bowl add besan,urad dal flour,salt, oil and baking soda. Mix well. Fafda/ChorafaliFafda/ChorafaliFafda/Chorafali1. Using water knead a stiff dough. Cover and rest dough for 20 minutes.
  2. After 20 minutes make it smooth with a rolling pin or pestle for 8-10 minutes till it becomes soft. You can alternatively knead it with your hands.
  3. Starch the dough and make a log from it. Cut it into equal parts.
  4. Take a lemon size ball and using rice flour roll it thinner than chapati. Dry it for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Heat oil for frying and fry fafda for high-medium flame till it turns light pink in colour.
  6. Remove on a plate. (You can sprinkle black salt and red chilli powder on it). It's ready to serve.
