I have made these countless number of times for my family & always turn out wonderful. Red millet or finger millet are known as ragi or nachni in most Indian languages.

Ragi ladoo is one of the most favored of recent trending foods in the world. It’s simple, it’s quick, it tastes delicious. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. They are fine and they look wonderful. Ragi ladoo is something which I’ve loved my whole life.

The ingredients needed to make Ragi ladoo:
  1. Make ready ragi flour
  2. Make ready jaggery
  3. Get water
  4. Make ready ghee
  5. Get peanuts
  6. Make ready cashew nuts

Ragi or nachni or finger millet is a healthy grain and should be included in the food that we make. Ragi or finger millet is red in color and is very nutritious, The ubiquitous ladoo made with Ragi (Finger Millet), which is much healthier and tastier too! Calcium rich Ragi Laddu loaded with dry fruits is an excellent energy booster. Ragi (Finger Millet / Kezhvaragu) is a nutritious millet variety.

Steps to make Ragi ladoo:
  1. Heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a pan and fry cashew nuts & peanuts. Take it out and keep it aside.
  2. Next, to the same pan add in ragi flour.
  3. Fry ragi flour until slight colour change or until you get nice aroma under medium flame. This will take around 10 minutes. - Once roasted well, switch off the stove. Take it out and set it aside.
  4. Next, take jaggery to a pan, add water and bring it to boil. Boil until it dissolves completely. Switch off and filter it to remove any impurities.
  5. Immediately pour the jaggery syrup over the roasted ragi flour. Add the roasted cashew nuts, peanuts.
  6. Mix it well and wait until heat is reduced. Make small lemon sized balls. In the beginning the laddus will be little soft and it will become stiff once cooled.
  7. These laddus keep good for at least a week. Store them in an air tight container & devour whenever you are hungry.
